La Meizi

Wang Peng was already there, so I told him I would take the bus. Houston’s public transportation is really inconvenient, there’s no subway. So I walked to the bus stop, and took bus 11 to Bellaire Blvd, then changed buses to go to Chinatown. The second bus was three stops.

When I got off the bus, it was raining. I didn’t have a raincoat so when I got to the restaurant I was soaking wet (literally, “I had become a chicken that fell into soup”). Wang Peng had already ordered and was flirting with the cute waitress. She brought the suanlatang and watched as Wang Pang drank some. “Is it hot enough?” she asked Wang Peng. “No, not nearly hot enough.” said Wang Peng. That Wang Peng, all the girls like him.

Then we went to the party. We got in Wang Peng’s car, drove to Highway Eight, went west, exited highway 290, then exited on University Road. That’s where La Meizi lived. At the party a lot of people sang and danced. That guy in the pictures from the Integrated Chinese Workbook was there! Teacher Zhang was also there. She and Gao Wenzhong ate crackers and talked about Chinese grammar. Wang Peng drank too much beer, so I drove him home.

The next afternoon I took him to the doctor. She was very young, and cute. After she looked at his health insurance card, she asked him what he had eaten yesterday: “Suanlatang and beer.” He said. Then she asked him why his eyes were red. “I guess smoking too much wacky tabacky.” he said. Then the doctor told him to rest, take this pills after supper and before bedtime, and to call her in the morning. “I will,” said Wang Peng, “I will.” The end.

上个 星期五 辣妹子 请我去她家的晚会。我想买一些 新衣服，但是没有很多钱，所以去Walmart 看一看。很多人不在Walmart 买衣服，因为他们觉得Walmart 的衣服难看，但是我想如果你花点时间看的话，你还能找到一些不错的衣服。而且，Walmart的衣服很便宜。 反正，我最喜欢的衣服是蓝色的和咖啡色的。所以我买了一条蓝色的牛仔裤和两件咖啡色的衬衫。牛仔裤一件十二块，衬衫一件六块，一共二十四块。付钱的时候，王朋打电话来请我去中国城吃中国菜。

王朋已经到那儿了，所以我告诉王朋我可以坐公共汽车去。休斯顿的公共交通很不方便，没地铁。所以我走到车站，坐了 11 号车去百利大道，在那儿换车去中国城。换车以后坐了三站。

下车的时候正在下雨呢。我没有穿雨衣所以到餐馆的时候变成了落汤鸡 。 王朋已经叫菜了，他也正挑逗餐馆可爱的服务小姐。服务小姐把酸辣汤放在桌上，看王朋喝了一口。服务小姐问王朋说：“汤够辣嘛？”王朋说， “我喜欢更辣的！”那个王朋，没有女孩不喜欢他！

然后我们去晚会了。上了王朋的车，开到八号高速公路，往西开，在290公路下，然后开到大学路，这就是辣妹子住的地方。在晚会里有的唱歌，有的跳舞。很有意思，我们《听说读写练习本》图画里的男人也在晚会里。常老师和高文中不唱歌， 也不跳舞，他们两个人边吃饼干，边讲语法的问题。王朋喝了太多啤酒，所以我开车送他回家。

第二天下午我带王朋去看病。看王朋的女大夫又年轻又漂亮。大夫先看了王朋的保险卡，再问他昨天吃了什么。 王朋说“酸辣汤和啤酒。”大夫问王朋眼睛为什么那么红呢？王朋说“可能是因为抽了大麻的关系。”问完问题大夫叫王朋多休息，晚饭后和睡觉前吃药片。也请王朋第二天给她打电话。“我会的，” 王朋说，“我会的。”
